Open 3D/BIM/3DGIS Datasets for Archaeological Heritage from the Lip3D Project (Grant Agreement No. 101173974)

This repository contains the available datasets (DATA) from Cultural Heritage Monuments corresponding to deliverables D3.2 (BIM/3DGIS of the current archaeological site) and D3.3 (BIM/3DGIS of the past archaeological site). These deliverables were produced under the Lip3D (Living forever the Past through a 3Digital world) project, funded by the European Union. The data originates from Work Package 3 (WP3): 3D survey and 3D semantic modelling, which focused on the organization, execution, and representation of the geometries and semantic content of archaeological structures and sites. The full data package is structured into six (6) separate ZIP archives, corresponding to the principal case studies across the participating countries: Italy (IT): Datasets for the site of Iuvanum site. Romania (RO): Datasets for the ancient Dacian fortresses of Sarmizegetusa. Albania (AL): Datasets covering the territory of Apollonìa. Greece (EL): Datasets for the Venetian Fortifications of Chania Cyprus (CY): Datasets for the ancient landscape of Amathus (Limassol) area, Poland/Bulgaria (PL/BG): Datasets for the Roman Legionary Fortress of Novae. These datasets represent semantic models incorporating historical information. The resulting digital outputs are detailed 3D representations categorized as: D3.2 (Current State): Parametric models (primarily IFC format) representing the archaeological site in its current condition. D3.3 (Past State): Parametric models (IFC format) representing the reconstruction of the structure as it appeared during its period of splendor, based on historical and archaeological data. The public release of these BIM/3DGIS datasets supports the core objectives of the Lip3D project: promoting knowledge, accessibility, preservation, and research in cultural heritage.
