This series was created by the Cabinet Office to record the receipt and handling of Cabinet submissions relating to appointments which were received from November 1982 to October 1986. For further details pertaining to these submissions refer to the series registration for VPRS 11946 Submissions relating to Appointments, Cain/Kirner Government. Although this series was created solely in the period the government was led by John Cain, the series title is attributed to the government led by him and his successor as Premier, Joan Kirner. This was done to facilitate the identification by series title of all Cabinet series created by this government.
