"This Environmental Assessment has been prepared to systematically evaluate the short- and long-term environmental and socioeconomic effects related to the restoration of the grounding site of the motor vessel (M/V) Wellwood. The vessel ran aground on Molasses Reef in Key Largo National Marine Sanctuary (KLNMS) in the Florida Keys on August 4, 1984. Six alternatives (including the 'no action' alternative) are presented and comparatively evaluated to determine whether the quality of the marine environment would be significantly affected by the proposed action. This document has been prepared in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) and its implementing regulations and the guidelines of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the NOAA Administrative Order 216-6 guidelines for compliance with NEPA." 2002 NOS (National Ocean Service) OCM (Office for Coastal Management) Library Public Domain 1937
