COMBATING ILLICIT DRUG TRAFFICKING ON THE INTERNET: CHALLENGES IN INVESTIGATION AND IMPROVING THE LEGISLATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN

This article examines current problems in the investigation of crimes related to the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances committed through the global Internet. Based on an analysis of the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the procedural mechanisms for the seizure of electronic evidence are considered, and legal gaps in the regulation of the obligations of Internet providers and server owners are identified. A number of measures are proposed to improve the criminal procedure legislation of Uzbekistan in this area.
