Target Capture SNP Dataset for Population Genetics of Bletia purpurea Using the Orchidaceae-963 Bait Set

This project contains target-capture sequencing data generated for population genomic analysis of Bletia purpurea, a terrestrial orchid widely distributed in Latin America but restricted within the United States to South Florida, where it occurs at its northeastern range limit. Genomic libraries were generated from wild individuals sampled across three counties spanning approximately 95 km. Target enrichment was performed using the Orchidaceae963 bait set, designed to capture 963 conserved nuclear loci. Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) data derived from these sequences will be used to characterize genetic diversity, population structure, and evolutionary history. The resulting genomic resources will support conservation and management initiatives for B. purpurea in South Florida, where it is considered regionally threatened.
