The identification of chicken MSMB3 on chicken genome remains controversial. Indeed, although MSMB1 (LOC101750594) and MSMB2 (LOC100858647) are co-localized within a 30 to 35 kb locus on chromosome 6 (6:18655953-18660462 and 6:18666862-8670817) regardless of the genome assembly version, MSMB3 was identified in Gallus_gallus 4.0 assembly but was withdrawn in the latest genome assemblies (5.0 and 6.0). However, several recent papers unambigously identified the protein in the egg white. Moreover, a 3D structure has been recently solved by X-ray cristallography (paper to be submitted soon)
