Na Ala Hele Trails

[Metadata] This dataset depicts the general geographic locations of statewide Na Ala Hele trail and access for the public use as of October 2022. Public trails within the Na Ala Hele Trail and Access system are managed and maintained by Na Ala Hele Trail Specialists at DOFAW's district offices. DO NOT wander off marked trail as it may be hazardous. This dataset is a graphical representation of the Na Ala Hele trails and access location, and is to be used in tandem with the trail's datasheet that describes in detail the exact location, route, amenities, and hazards. Link: https://hawaiitrails.hawaii.gov/trails/#/. May not overlay well over with more detailed satellite imagery due to the different sources and scales. Information was compiled and digitized by DLNR/DOFAW from various sources, 1998-2000. For higher accuracy some trails have been GPSed and/or overlayed onto satellite imagery to verify accuracy. Updates provided 2002, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022. Latest update October 2022.
