NRS-12189 | Annotated printed indents (ie. office copies)

These are duplicates of the other printed indents, with the exception that they were the office copies of the Principal Superintendent and after 1855 of the Convict Branch of the Police. They frequently contain notes re the fate of various convicts, and reference numbers to tickets of leave, pardons, certificates of freedom etc.The set is not complete. For 1836 there are two office copies, one containing considerably more extra notes than the other. The second was possibly the Colonial Secretary's copy or, as one is in very bad condition, the other may have been used instead. The entries in the second, X639, are nearly all dated 1840.Volume X642A (formerly CO 207/3), 1840-42, has been returned from the Public Records Office, London.
