The primary goal of this data was to determine whether there are differences in microbial communities between horses with Free Fecal Liquid (FFL) against healthy controls. Fecal samples were collected from 25 horses (14 with FFL and 11 healthy) across British Columbia's Fraser Valley. Libraries for the 16S rRNA gene were generated using the Ion 16S Metagenomics Kit and then were sequenced on the GeneStudio S5 System (Ion Torrent).
