Gaze Patterns in Dual-Screen Watching of Narrative Content and TikTok (dataset)

This repository accompanies the article "Gaze Patterns in Dual-Screen Watching of Narrative Content and TikTok" (submitted). It contains the processed data and the fully reproducible R analysis scripts for all hypotheses (H1–H3) and research questions (RQ1, RQ2) reported in the manuscript, together with the numerical outputs, figures, and tables they generate. The study (N = 64) examined attention allocation and gaze-switching behaviour during simultaneous exposure to television content (Reacher, Emily in Paris, and Slow TV) and TikTok on a tablet. Participants were assigned to one of two conditions: a fixed TikTok playlist (Playlist group, n = 33) or live TikTok (Swiping group, n = 31). How to navigate the repository: README.txt — documents the full repository structure, the mapping between article group labels and the working labels used in the data files, the run order of the scripts, and every output file. SNAP_E2_Methods_full.txt — the full deposited Methods section, including exact fixation/buffer counts, per-category removal percentages, all equations, and the power/MDE derivations referenced from the article. data/ — processed data files, fully documented at the variable level in data/codebook.txt. Primary file is the per-fixation dataset with AOI classification (TV / Tablet / Off-screen). scripts/ — R analysis scripts, run from the repository root. The hypothesis/RQ scripts are independent; sensitivity_analysis.R is run last. outputs/ — all numerical results (CSV), fitted model objects (.rds), the article figures (300 dpi), and Table 1. results_summary.csv collects every omnibus test statistic reported in the Results section. Notes: Raw eye-tracking recordings (Pupil Labs Invisible) are not included due to file size; they are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request. This deposit has been anonymized for double-blind peer review: author names, affiliations, contact details, and the repository DOI have been removed from all documentation.
