Sicherheit 2015. Aussen-, sicherheits- und verteidigungspolitische Meinungsbildung im Trend

This survey is part of the "Security" study series. This series is based on a representative survey on long-term trends and tendencies in public opinion on foreign, security, and defense policy issues in Switzerland in 1983. This survey was conducted by K. Haltiner at the Institute of Sociology of University of Berne and by the Swiss National Science Foundation (NRP No. 11 "Security Policy", project 4.419. 0.81.11). Since 1991 this survey been published annually in January / February and published under the title "Security". At the same time, the survey was extended to include questions of foreign policy and general sense of security. The project is now headed by the Department of Military Sociology of the Military Academy at ETH Zurich and the Center for Security Studies at ETH Zurich. The aim of these surveys is to identify trends and tendencies in the general sense of security and threats, trust in institutions and authorities, the degree of foreign and security policy co-operation, neutrality in general, and different views of neutrality, the attitude towards military defense as well as security policy interest. In addition to a core set of questions, which are asked at regular or irregular intervals, other questions address current security policy issues every year. In 2015, the ocus was on the perception of the threat of different security aspects, the probability of different threats, the different military service models, and the assessment of various performance features of the Swiss Army. In addition to the trend analysis, the study series also focuses on the question of how the attitudes towards the three thematic complexes (general security, foreign policy and defense policy) are related to living conditions and political orientation.
