Wood frogs occupied an extremely broad range over North America since the last glacial maximum. This species is highly tolerant of extreme environments, is freeze tolerant, and well-studied ecologically. This genome was sponsored by the David Skelly, with the sample collected by Kealoha Freidenburg, both at the Yale School of the Environment. Sequencing was conducted for a high-quality reference, with Pacbio CLR, Hi-C and Bionano optical maps, and the genome assembled and curated, by Nathaniel Edelman at the Yale School of the Environment and Olivier Fedrigo, Giulio Formenti, and Erich Jarvis in the Vertebrate Genome Lab at the Rockefeller University.
