MSSA463 strain with SCCmec III type-specific fragment ORF CZ049 (AB037671) (MRSA85/2082) being detected, was named as SCC-like MSSA. It was isolated from a 74-year-old patient in Nanchang, Jiangxi province, diagnosed as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (acute exacerbation), bronchiectasis and infection (considered as community acquired pneumonia, CAP). The strain was susceptible to most of the commonly used antibiotics. There was not any viruluence genes in the attL and attR inverted repeat regions in MSSA463. But the ORF CZ049 (AB037671) sequence was still found in the downstream vicinity of the inverted repeat sequences.
