This repository contains simulations performed with the Modèle Atmosphérique Régional (MAR) version 3.14 over the Central Himalaya (82.5°E–89.4°E, 26.6°N–30.5°N) at 7 km spatial resolution. The simulations are forced by the ERA5 reanalysis (Hersbach et al., 2020) as lateral boundary conditions and cover the period 1950–2025. Further information about the MAR model is available at: https://gitlab.com/Mar-Group/. The following variables are included in this repository: TTz: Air temperature (°C). Available at 2, 10, and 100 m above ground. RF: Daily rainfall (mm w.e.). SF: Daily snowfall (mm w.e.). SHSN3: Daily total snow height (m). For this variable, use sector = 2. The variables listed above are also available at hourly resolution. In addition, the following variables are available upon request: AL: Surface albedo (0–1). LWD: Surface downward longwave radiation (W m⁻²). LWU: Surface upward longwave radiation (W m⁻²). SWD: Surface downward shortwave radiation (W m⁻²). SWU: Surface upward shortwave radiation (W m⁻²). SHF: Surface sensible heat flux (W m⁻²). LHF: Surface latent heat flux (W m⁻²). MB: Total snow water equivalent (mm w.e.). QQz: Specific humidity (g kg⁻¹). Available at 2, 10, and 100 m above ground. UUz: Zonal wind component (m s⁻¹). Available at 2, 10, and 100 m above ground. VVz: Meridional wind component (m s⁻¹). Available at 2, 10, and 100 m above ground.
