Enhancement of microbial dissimilatory iron reduction for phosphorus recovery via vivianite

This study focuses on phosphorus recovery by vivianite method, aiming to enhance phosphorus immobilization in waste activated sludge through a synergistic optimization mechanism of iron source-electron donor-conducting powder-crystal species. With a controlled Fe:P molar ratio of 2:1, the effects of different iron sources, electron donors and conductive powders on the enrichment of dissimilatory metal-reducing bacteria (DMRB) were systematically investigated.
