资源简介:
The queen scallop Aequipecten opercularis is an important fisheries and aquaculture resource. Bivalve molluscs are filter feeders that can accumulate biotoxins in their body tissues during harmful algal blooms. Amnesic Shellfish Poisoning (ASP) is caused by species of the diatom genus Pseudo-nitzschia, which produces the toxin domoic acid. The transcriptome of Aequipecten opercularis digestive gland was de novo assembled. Scallops were divided into three groups of 6 animals each (a control group and two groups naturally exposed to domoic acid-producing Pseudo-nitzschia ). We studied the transcriptional changes after exposure to domoic acid-producing Pseudo-nitzschia. This can provide insights on the scallop response to domoic acid and can also help to identify genes putatively involved in detoxification of domoic acid in bivalve molluscs.
