Objetive. Determine the degrees of conversion and photoactivation of dual cements in vitro. Background .Properties of photopolymerized materials are influenced by the conversion level reached during polymerization. Materials and Methods:A comparative, cross-sectional in vitro study was performed. Two resinous cements were used (two groups with n = 6 samples each), which were analyzed before photoactivation, after photoactivation and 24 hours later. In the second group, the samples were photoactivated through a ceramic disc 1.5 mm thick, and they were analyzed with spectroscopy, including the Fourier transform and total reflection. Results :Allcem Veneer APS (FGM, Joinville, SC, Brazil) 44.9%, Allcem Dual, (FGM, Joinville, SC, Brazil) 51.89% at 24 hours Allcem Veneer: 61.47% Allcem Dual: 60.49%, in immediate scanning, activation via ceramic disc, Allcem Veneer: 37.25% Allcem Dual: 29.29% at 24 hours Allcem Veneer: 58.28% Allcem Dual: 60.97%. Conclusion: The degree of conversion showed significant differences after photoactivation in the two cements independent of the application .
