广义的财经新闻或称泛经济新闻，覆盖全部社会经济生活和与经济有关的领域，包括从生产到消费、从城市到农村、从宏观到微观、从安全生产到服务质量，从经济工作到政治、社会生活中的相关领域。狭义的财经新闻则重点关注资本市场，并用金融资本市场的视角看中国经济主义生活。  与其他专业新闻相比，财经新闻还有其一定的特殊性，首先，为达到财经媒体的宣传功能，财经新闻工作者也将大量的财经专业词汇予以解读，在专业性与可读性之间寻求平衡；其次，财经新闻报道除了发挥其财经宣传功能外，还为证券市场、研究者预测市场经济活动提供了大量的优质文本语料信息。

Broadly defined financial news, also called general economic news, covers all social economic activities and economically related fields, ranging from production to consumption, urban to rural areas, macro to micro levels, work safety to service quality, as well as relevant areas in economic work, politics and social life. Narrowly defined financial news focuses on capital markets, and examines China’s economic life from the perspective of financial and capital markets. Compared with other types of specialized news, financial news has its unique characteristics. First, to fulfill the publicity function of financial media, financial journalists often explain a large number of financial professional terms, striking a balance between professionalism and readability. Second, besides serving its publicity function, financial news reports also provide a large amount of high-quality textual corpus information for the securities market and researchers to forecast market economic activities.
