Gut Microbial Signatures and Stability are Associated with a Co-diagnosis of Endometriosis and Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Endometriosis (Endo) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are chronic inflammatory conditions that share common symptoms and pathogenesis, often leading to diagnostic overlap. Emerging evidence suggests that the gut microbiota plays a crucial role in both conditions, contributing to the systemic inflammation. This study aimed to explore gut microbial signatures in women with endometriosis, IBD and a co-diagnosis of both (Endo-IBD), compared to healthy controls (HC), within an Australian cohort.
