18S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing from Llobregat Delta (freshwater and marine samples)

In this project, multiple sites of the Llobregat Delta (located in the center of the Catalan coast) were sampled, including small freshwater bodies, the river mouth, and adjacent coastal marine waters. By analyzing microbial communities across this environmental gradient, the study aims to document biodiversity patterns and ecosystem functions within the delta. The dataset provides a comprehensive baseline of microbial diversity, underscoring the ecological richness of this highly pressured area. These results are intended to support conservation efforts, highlighting the importance of preserving the Llobregat Delta as a unique and vulnerable ecosystem.
