Social, task and information elements and their interactions in a disaster response

The data are derived from a detailed case study of the emergency response to the severe rainstorm and geological disaster that occurred in Longchuan County, China, in 2019. The whole event is extensively documented in the published monograph, ''Comprehensive Response to Emergencies: Lessons from the 2019 Severe Rainstorm and Geological Disaster in Longchuan County''. The data are particularly representative as they encapsulate a comprehensive record of emergency management activities, from the collection of meteorological and hydrological information to the initiation and execution of a Level III flood control emergency response. Moreover, the data details the collaborative interactions among various human and non-human agents and the rich relationships among information and task elements. Therefore, this data set is suitable for the study of distributed situation awareness (DSA) in disaster response.
