Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU), NSF NHERI 2025: Soil Classification of Hornsby Bend test site with Cone Penetration Testing

This project covers a soil survey of the Hornsby Bend test site via Cone Penetrometer Testing (CPT), as well as the estimation of engineering properties in the site. The data in this project can be used to inform ongoing research at the site by checking the accuracy of results from new, experimental test methods. While previous CPT has been performed at the Hornsby Bend, this project covers a previously untested portion of the site. This project is aimed towards geotechnical engineers who are currently or planning to perform research at the Hornsby Bend test site.
