<p>This dataset supports a parametric study and development of an artificial neural network for steel-plate composite impacts. The data consists of 4 tabs. The &quot;Planned Test Matrix&quot; tab outlines the finite element modeling matrix with 590 models designed to conduct an analytical study on the missile impact performance of steel-plate composite (SC) walls. Each of these impacts are solid steel cylindrical projectiles. The &quot;Matrix Model Geometry&quot; tab outlines the geometry of each model, including target size and element size. &quot;Matrix Results&quot; is the summary of results for each of the models that was run. Of the 590 models, 363 successfully ran with no error. Most errors during the model execution are associated with the run time of the model being too short. Lastly, &quot;ANN Training Data&quot; is the subset of 236 of these successful models which were used to train an artificial neural network (ANN) to predict the result, penetration depth, and residual velocity of SC impact.&nbsp;</p>
