Forest Functions in Saxony — Residual Forest Areas in Low Forest Regions

The data set contains the residual forest areas in low-forest regions of the Free State of Saxony. Residual forest areas are forest stocks in particularly low-forest areas, which alone fulfil several protective functions (climate protection, pollution protection, soil protection, nature conservation, landscape design, etc.). They also serve as a retreat for many animal and plant species. The data is used for the forest function map 1:25,000 of Saxony.
