The Structural Variant Landscape of Tomato

The goal of this study is, primarily, to establish a comprehensive database of natural structural variants in tomato. Secondarily, we aim to better understand the function of specific mutations as well as the role and impact of structural variants in general. This project includes the sequencing of many diverse tomato accessions with Oxford Nanopore Technologies. These data are then analyzed through genome assembly and read alignment to establish and investigate structural variants genome-wide.
