Tropical Wave Tracks and Forecast Skill in DIMOSIC and AIFS Models

This repository contains data generated for the submission to Weather and Forecasting titled "On the Representation of Kelvin Waves and Easterly Waves in Operational Forecast Models: An Object-Tracking Perspective". Published data includes: CCKW Forecast Errors for DIMOSIC and AIFS model runs ("forecast_errors.zip") CCKW Forecast Errors for Additional (2023, 2024) AIFS model runs ("additional_aifs_run_forecast_errors.zip") Reference Wave Tracks (OLR and IMERG) ("main_reference.zip") Model Wave Tracks (IMERG) ("model_and_cutdown_data_tp.zip") Model Wave Trakcs (OLR) ("model_and_cutdown_data_olr.zip") NOTE: The "RMSE" fields within the "forecast_errors.zip" netcdf files should not be used to recreate the figures from this submission; RMSE should be computed from the actual error values themselves.
