Hourly WBGT and UTCI series for the outdoor competition venues of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (1991–2025), derived from ERA5

This dataset accompanies the manuscript "Climate Services for Heat-Risk Management at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games: A Competition-Zone Assessment Using WBGT and UTCI" (submitted to Climate, MDPI). It contains the hourly Wet-Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) and Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) series computed for the six outdoor competition venues of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, over the Games window (31 October–13 November) for each year from 1991 to 2025. WBGT was computed with the full physical model of Liljegren et al. (2008) and UTCI with the operational procedure of Bröde et al. (2012), both as implemented in the thermofeel library, from ERA5 hourly reanalysis fields (2 m temperature, 2 m dew-point temperature, surface pressure, 10 m wind components, SSRD, FDIR, STRD). Contents: hourly WBGT/UTCI series for the six venues; the ERA5 grid cell coordinates used for extraction; and the processing and plotting code.
