In this study, we characterize the salivary microbial communities in P. solenopsis using high-throughput sequencing of 16S ribosomal RNA (16S rRNA). We also determined the effect of saliva-associated microbes on the probing behavior of P. solenopsis on cotton using antibiotic treatment.
