Microbiome from mice receiving FMT from frailty patients

Frailty, a complex geriatric syndrome, significantly impedes the attainment of 'healthy aging'. Increasing evidence suggests a link between gut microbiota, systemic inflammation, and frailty, yet establishing causality and understanding underlying mechanisms remain areas for further research. To investigate this, we conducted fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) experiments on germ-free (GF) mice, dividing them into three groups: those receiving transplants from healthy elderly individuals (HF group), those receiving from frailty patients (FF group), and a subgroup of the FF group supplemented with probiotic BFS1243 (FFL group).
