Women Entrepreneurs in Rural Areas 2001-2009

The data consist of face-to-face interviews of 16 female entrepreneurs in the North Karelia and Pirkanmaa regions in Finland. The main themes of the interviews were female entrepreneurship in rural areas, challenges and advantages of rural enterprise, reasons for becoming an entrepreneur, financial circumstance at the time of the interview, financial prospects, and life-work balance. The same entrepreneurs were interviewed in 2001-2002 and again in 2009. Background variables included the interviewee's occupation/industry and region. The dataset is only available in Finnish.
