Soil salinity induces yield loss in viticulture due to the physiological damages caused by excess of ions in vines. Some genotypes display higher tolerance to salinity which is reflected in ion content in leafs and berries, growth rate and oxidative damage. Here we compare the gene expression under saline stress from vitis genotypes with contrasting levels of salt tolerance, and analyze possible candidate genes responsible of the salt tolerant phenotype.
