Accurately characterizing the structural changes of the developing human brain is critical for understanding healthy brain development and identifying neurodevelopmental disorders. Traditional adult brain segmentation tools struggle to handle pediatric MRI scans, especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) where high-field MRI systems are rarely available. To address this gap, the UNITY Consortium is currently testing a 0.064T ultra-high-resolution SWOOP scanner. The LISA Challenge comprises two tasks: 1) Evaluating objective quality assurance (QA) methods to ensure the quality of MRI scans; 2) Automatic segmentation of the bilateral hippocampus, a key structure associated with cognitive and memory functions.
