This dataset contains electroencephalography (EEG) signals acquired using the NeuroSky MindWave Mobile 1 device. Data were collected from two participants: one male subject (27 years old) and one female subject (22 years old). The dataset captures physiological signal patterns under two cognitive conditions: Focus (visually fixating on and mentally attending to a target object) and Not Focus (mind wandering). The target stimulus consisted of two concentric circles with a central red dot, displayed on a whiteboard for Front, Left, and Right orientations, and on paper for the Under orientation. Data collection was conducted across four gaze orientations. Front (240 cm distance), Left (268.33 cm, 26.57° angle), Right (268.33 cm, 26.57° angle), and Under (132.4 cm diagonal, 63.4° downward angle), in a controlled laboratory environment at the Digital Engineering Laboratory, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Universitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia.
Each participant completed 10 trials per condition with each trial lasting 10 seconds, resulting in a total of 160 CSV files containing approximately 1,596 data points. The data acquisition system utilized a Raspberry Pi 3B connected to the NeuroSky MindWave via Bluetooth, with data logged to a MySQL database using Python. The dataset includes all raw NeuroSky output parameters without any preprocessing or filtering, including Attention, Meditation, Poor Signal Quality, Raw EEG, and EEG power bands (Delta, Theta, Low Alpha, High Alpha, Low Beta, High Beta, Low Gamma, High Gamma). This dataset is suitable for brain-computer interface development, cognitive state monitoring, machine learning classification research, and human-machine interaction studies.
