Widely targeted metabolomic profiling combined with transcriptome analysis provides new insights into lipid biosynthesis in seed for Pinus koraiensis

P. koraiensis seed is rich in lipid, however, there are few reports on the types and quantities of lipids contained in them, as well as genes related to lipid synthesis. In this study, a combined of extensive targeted metabolomics and transcriptomics was used to explore the biosynthesis process of lipid in different development stages of P. koraiensis seed, the interaction between related metabolites and genes during lipid formation was revealed. The results provide a theoretical basis for the market development and utilization of P. koraiensis seed.
