VPRS 2591 Transcript of Proceedings

This series consists of transcripts and related material related to the hearings of the Royal Commission on the Failure of a Portion of the West Gate Bridge held over an 80 day period from 1970 to 1971.The P0000 consignment consists of Transcripts of Proceedings, which provide a verbatim transcript of the discussions held in the Royal Commission hearings. This consignment also provides copies of correspondence used in evidence at the hearings, a copy of the final report tabled by the Royal Commission, and newspaper clippings on the subject of the bridge collapse.The P0001 consignment consists of two sets of transcripts. Both sets are exact duplicates of the transcripts in the P0000 consignment with the following exceptions Set One contains a portion of inward correspondence submitted to the Royal Commission as evidence for the inquiry (see unit 5), and Set Two is accompanied by a Subject Index (see unit 10).A further copy of the transcript from this Royal Commission can be obtained from units 51- 60 of VPRS 6057 (Transcripts of Royal Commissions).
