## **Abstract** \n\nThis dataset was supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and is presented here as originally supplied. Metadata was not provided and has been compiled by the Bioregional Assessment Programme based on known details at the time of acquisition. \n\n\n\nThis is a polygon layer representing the current extent of the 3 existing coal mines (open cut pits only) in the Gippsland project area. There is no supporting information on how, when or who created the layer as it was supplied in a dataset during the final map making process. The boundaries match the current (early 2016) pit boundaries and the possible extensions or growth of the pits.\n\n\n\nThis dataset supersedes Mines (GUID 2bb8f07d-6319-4dd7-a639-dc29d127fe53)\n\n## **Purpose** \n\nBasic outlines of each of the major coal mine open pits in the Gippsland region.
