Topics include: whether the respondent would like to see Prince Charles become the next Governor-General and apart from Prince Charles who the respondent favours; the respondent's opinion on air transport topics such as a merger of the two Government owned airlines Qantas and TAA, overseas flights by TAA and Ansett, the proposed introduction of cheaper fares for long-distance flights within Australia with dearer fares for shorter flights and, the transport of interstate passengers within Australia by international airlines; whether the respondent favours a flat rate of personal income tax; whether he favours Mr Fraser's statement that the Government would seek first to assist single-income households; whether the respondent favours keeping a 40-hour standard work week or would like to see the introduction of a 35-hour week; should reduced working hours be introduced progressively to certain industries or should it be deferred until they are introduced to all industries at one time; whether the respondent has a colour television set in the household; and for women, whether she is responsible for all or most of the household shopping, whether she is employed, and approximately how much money is spent weekly on food and groceries. Background variables include: age; sex; marital status; level of education; country of birth; household composition (number persons in household, number children under age 5, number children between 5-12 years old, number children between 13 and 17 years old, age of the youngest person, and number of employed persons); whether respondent has moved in last two years; tenure of dwelling; occupation of self and head of household; voting enrolment; vote intention; income; and telephone ownership.
