The goal of this project is to generate full mitochondrial genomes from across the Ceratopogonidae sp. Through these generated mitogenomes the project in order to better understand intraspecific genetic diversity within Ceratopogonidae. We also will analyse a large dataset of samples from across the superfamily Chironomoidae species, to better understand taxonomy, biogeography among others.
