Volcanism records plate thinning driven rift localization in Afar (Ethiopia) since 2-2.5 million years ago

This dataset includes results from ⁴⁰Ar/³⁹Ar geochronological analysis of 16 samples from the Afar Depression in Ethiopia, along with major and trace element geochemical data for one sample.
