North Carolina Piedmont, high temporal resolution N and C export from four catchments along a development gradient, winter 2017-winter 19’

High temporal resolution monitoring of in-situ nitrogen and carbon export from four catchments along an exurban-urban gradient in the North Carolina Piedmont was conducted between the winter of 2017 and the winter of 2019. Nitrate export was measured with S::CAN and SUNA in-situ spectrometers, and total dissolved nitrogen and dissolved organic carbon was measured with S::CAN UV-Vis spectrometers. Sensor readings were calibrated to lab analyzed grab samples and automated storm samples. A subset of samples were measured for stable isotopes of nitrate, 15N and 18O. This data supports the findings of the manuscript \"High frequency monitoring and nitrate sourcing reveals baseflow and stormflow controls on total dissolved nitrogen and carbon export along a rural-urban gradient\" submitted to WRR for review in Nov. 2023.
