Efficacy and Safety of Tumour Necrosis Factor alpha inhibitors for Generalized Pustular Psoriasis of Pregnancy: A Review of Reported Cases

Generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP) is a rare, severe neutrophilic dermatosis characterized by sterile pustules on erythematous skin. When triggered or worsened by pregnancy, it is termed GPP of pregnancy (GPPP), or impetigo herpetiformis (IH), and can be life-threatening for both mother and fetus.1 Despite its severity, evidence on the safety and efficacy of treatments, particularly biologic agents, remains limited. Here, we review reported cases of GPPP treated with TNF-α inhibitors to help assess their clinical utility in pregnancy.
