Sequencing single cells from posteriorly injured and regenerating posterior tissue in the marine annelid Platynereis dumerilii across a time series of post-injury timepoints. Animals were amputated posteriorly, followed by sampling at multiple post-injury timepoints. All sampled tissues include the wound-adjacent segment as well as any regenerated structures such as a blastema or pygidium at later stages.The study aims to identify the cell-type specific molecular changes in response to posterior injury, as well as the trajectories and molecular signalling cascades leading to successful posterior regeneration. The inclusion of timepoint T0 (0 hours post amputation) allows the establishment of a "baseline" uninjured trunk segment any subsequent stages can be compared with.
