Luigi Parlati: un intellettuale salentino dalla Grande Guerra alla Repubblica

The story of the life of Luigi Parlati, a lieutenant in the Great War who critically observes the various events of the conflict. A prisoner in Celle, in Hanover, following the defeat of Caporetto, a severe critique of militarism in general and the structure of the Italian army matured. He wrote a diary and two memorials that were very useful for understanding some of the events of the First World War. The disenchantment towards any praise of militarism led him naturally, for a democratic education received both in the family context and in the cultural context of his city, Latiano in the province of Brindisi, to militant anti-fascism. He was confined to Ventotene in 1938.
