Control and Management of Distributed Energy Resources in Smart Distribution Networks

The integration of renewable distributed energy resources (DERs) in electrical power networks has been rapidly increasing. Concerns about global warming, the energy resiliency of communities, and the sustainability of renewable energy resources are among the main drivers of this rapid growth. Despite the benefits provided by DERs, they have also introduced several operational challenges. This dissertation aims to devise novel control and management approaches to maintain network integrity and ensure the efficient integration of DERs.
