To investigate the mtDNA variation in different tissues in human, we sequenced 12 tissues from 152 individuals (from autopsy). MtDNA was enriched by in-solution capture method (Maricic et al. PLoS ONE 5(11): e14004). We have successfully sequenced 1684 samples, with average coverage of 3458X (46X-36444X). 12 tissues include: blood(BL), cerebellum(CEL), cerebrum(CER), cortex(CO), kidney(KI), large intestine(LI), liver(LV), myocardial muscle(MM), ovary(OV), skeletal muscle(SM), skin(SK), small intestine(SI). All samples were ligated with specific barcode and sequenced in one Illumina HiSeq 2000 run (95bp paired-end).
