Physical exposure to floods

It measures the annual average exposed population (population with physical exposure) to floods based on the GAR 2015 flood hazard maps for 25, 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1 000-year return period. The hazard maps are developed at 1 km × 1 km resolution. GAR 2015 flood maps do not take into account flood defenses. The score is based on the arithmetic average of two values, absolute physical exposure and relative physical exposure, after being rescaled into a range of 0 to 10 and applying a log transformation of the absolute values of exposed people.
