Transcriptome changes during seed development of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.)

Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) is an important vegetable worldwide; however, its genetics and genomic information is limited. To better understand the gene expression changes of seeds at different developmental stages (3 and 6 days after flowering), transcriptome sequencing and gene expression analysis were adopted to investigate differentially expressed genes by using RNA sequencing approach. These data provide comprehensive gene expression information at the transcriptional level, and facilitate understanding of the molecular mechanisms in seed development.
