Global LNG regasification utilization by country 2023

Belgium had the highest utilization rate of LNG regasification plants in the world. In 2023, roughly 125 percent of its regasification capacity was used. Belgium has a regasification capacity of 6.6 million metric tons per year. Regasification is the process of converting liquefied natural gas at a temperature of -162 degrees Celsius (-260 degrees Fahrenheit) back into natural gas at atmospheric temperature.
