Shallow-water marine microbial metagenomes from western Greenland

Dataset includes shotgun sequenced eDNA collected at three sites in western Greenland, to explore possible microbial functional changes following continued warming in the region. Samples were collected at three sites: Kangerlussuaq (66.9663, -50.9489), Sisimiut (66.9369, -53.6981), and Ilulissat (69.2200, -51.1121). Sampling sites feature variable mean sea surface temperatures, turbidity, salinity, and annual sea ice coverage. Samples were collected and exported under Non-Exclusive Licence No. G23-045, granted by the Government of Greenland, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Business and Trade. The licence authorizes non-commercial utilization of Greenland genetic resources in accordance with the Nagoya Protocol and the Greenland Genetic Resources Act. Utilization is restricted to basic scientific research, and all results are reported to the Greenland Government. Data are made publicly available via the NCBI SRA to support open scientific research and reproducibility.
