Interaction between endophytic bacteria and pathogenic fungi in sweet potato. Fusarium oxysporum strain:strain BM3

We isolated endophytic diazotrophic bacteria from sweet potato stems, while we also isolated pathogenic fungi from sweet potato stems in NARO, Kyushu Okinawa Agricultural Research Center (KARC), Miyakonojo Research Station. Then we investigated plant-microbe interaction and also microbe-microbe (endophytic bacteria-pathogenic fungi) interaction in sweet potatoes (Ipomoea batatas L.). Our study goals are to develop the microbial technology to utilize endophytic bacteria to control plant diseases caused by pathogenic fungi and bacteria in the upland fields in Japan.
